What is RFID?
The technical term for RFID is radio frequency identification technology. It is a wireless communication technology that can identify specific targets and read and write relevant data through wireless signals, without establishing mechanical or optical contact between the recognition system and specific targets.

What is NFC?
The technical term of NFC is near-field communication technology, which evolved from the integration of non-contact radio frequency identification (RFID) and interconnection technology. The chip combines inductive card readers, inductive cards, and point-to-point functions, enabling recognition and data exchange with compatible devices over short distances.

The connection and difference between RFID and NFC
Simply put, NFC is an improved RFID technology based on RFID. Compared to RFID, it has some characteristics such as close distance, high bandwidth, and low energy consumption.
1. The operating frequency of NFC is 13.56MHz, while the operating frequencies of RFID include low frequency, high frequency (13.56MHz), and ultra-high frequency.
2. Effective working distance: NFC is less than 10cm, so it has high security. RFID distances range from a few meters to tens of meters!
3. Technical standards: NFC is limited to the 13.56MHz frequency band, and the technical standards are unified, so many manufacturers support NFC, while RFID standards are more complex and unified!
4. Working mode: NFC supports both read/write mode and card mode. In RFID, the card reader and non-contact card are two independent entities that cannot be switched.

5.NFC is a close range connection protocol that provides easy, secure, fast, and automatic communication between various devices. Compared to other connection methods in the wireless world, NFC is a close range private communication method.

The application of RFID and NFC in daily life
RFID animal management: Using RFID animal ear tag readers to read animal ear tags, carry out animal biological epidemic prevention management, inventory counting management, weighing management, growth monitoring management, seedling breeding management, etc., applied in the field of animal management, it plays an effective supervision and management role in establishing systems and food safety monitoring.

Industrial applications: various production line management, used for production quality control and information collection, including food processing production lines, manufacturing production lines, warehouse material transportation vehicles, and so on.

Common applications in daily life: RFID self-service borrowing and returning to libraries, clothing RFID tags (mainly reflected in the supply chain), RFID electric vehicle charging stations, RFID access control, ETC high-speed toll stations.NFC mobile payment, swiping subway/bus cards, wireless charging, bank cards, wristbands, etc.

With the development of RFID and NFC technology, RFID and NFC provide strong technical support for the Internet of Things, and their application in daily life is becoming increasingly widespread.
