Individualus NFC kortelių spausdinimas: medžiagos, lustai ir minimalus užsakymo kiekis paaiškinti

A marketing agency in Lisbon ordered 5,000 NFC cards for a restaurant loyalty program. They picked the cheapest supplier on Alibaba, paid USD 0.42 per card, and got cards that printed fine but refused to scan on 30% of customers’ phones. The chip inside was a counterfeit NTAG213 with a broken NDEF message. Reissuing, reprinting and customer complaints cost the agency close to EUR 6,500, and the restaurant almost dropped the program.

That story is not about bad printing. It is about a buyer who compared price but not the chip. Custom nfc card printing is two products in one: a printed card body and an RFID inlay that has to work on every phone. This guide walks through the materials, chips, MOQ and finishes so your next custom nfc card printing order scans the first time.

What Custom NFC Card Printing Actually Includes

When you ask for custom nfc card printing, you are usually getting three things bundled:

  • A PVC or PET card body (CR80 standard: 85.6 x 54 x 0.76 mm).
  • An NFC inlay embedded inside the card, laminated between two layers.
  • Full-color CMYK printing on both sides, plus optional finishes.

The card body is the easy part. The inlay and chip are where suppliers cut corners. A cheap custom nfc card printing quote may look identical on the shelf but use a recycled inlay, a counterfeit chip or a misaligned antenna that only scans at one angle.

Card Body Materials: PVC, PET, PLA and Recycled

The base material changes feel, durability and eco story:

  • PVC: the default. Rigid, takes full-color print, lasts 5+ years. Most custom nfc card printing runs on PVC.
  • PET: slightly thinner, more flexible, used for eco-friendly and sustainable programs.
  • PLA / recycled PVC: newer option for brands that need an eco claim. The inlay is usually still plastic.
  • Composite / PETG: more durable for outdoor events and access control.

If your program is a loyalty or event card, PVC is fine. If you are marketing a sustainability brand, ask for recycled PVC or PET and get the FSC or ISO 14001 cert in writing. The pvc cards category on our site lists the standard CR80 sizes and material options, so you can compare the body before you quote the chip.

Chip Options: NTAG213, NTAG215, NTAG216 and Mifare

The NFC chip decides what the card can do:

  • NTAG213: 144 bytes user memory. Holds one URL. Best for simple tap-to-URL loyalty cards.
  • NTAG215: 504 bytes user memory. Holds a URL plus a small vCard. Used for Amiibo and most event cards.
  • NTAG216: 888 bytes user memory. Holds multiple URLs, vCards and small media. Used for corporate access and VIP cards.
  • Mifare Classic 1K / EV1: used for access control where the door system already runs Mifare.

For most custom nfc card printing orders, NTAG213 is the sweet spot on price. If you need to write more than one link, step up to NTAG215. The printable rfid card guide on our site walks through how to match the chip to your reader and use case.

MOQ, Lead Time and Setup Cost

A typical custom nfc card printing quote breaks down like this:

  • Sample / pre-press: 50–100 pcs, 5–7 days, usually free or USD 30–80.
  • 500 pcs: 10–15 days, per-card price around USD 0.60–1.20 depending on chip and finish.
  • 1,000–5,000 pcs: 15–20 days, per-card price USD 0.40–0.80.
  • 10,000+ pcs: 20–30 days, per-card price USD 0.25–0.45.

Setup cost (print plate and inlay loading) is usually USD 80–150. Some suppliers waive it at 5,000+ pcs. If a quote has no setup fee and no sample stage, ask how they are loading the inlay.

Print Finishes: Matte, Gloss, Spot UV, Foil

The finish changes both feel and durability:

  • Matte laminate: the default. Scratch-resistant, no glare.
  • Gloss laminate: vibrant colors, but shows fingerprints.
  • Spot UV: raised glossy pattern over selected areas. Adds USD 0.05–0.15 per card.
  • Hot foil stamping: gold or silver foil on text or logos. Adds USD 0.10–0.25 per card.
  • Variable data: serial number, barcode or QR code on each card. Adds USD 0.02–0.05 per card.

For custom nfc card printing, variable data is almost always worth it. You want each card to have a unique ID that ties back to your loyalty or access system. Without variable data, every card is identical and fraud is trivial.

Common Buyer Mistakes to Avoid

Three mistakes we see every quarter:

  • Picking the cheapest NTAG213 without verifying the chip. Counterfeit chips are common. Ask for a batch test report.
  • Skipping the sample stage. A 50 pc sample costs almost nothing and catches print color, scan angle and inlay alignment problems.
  • Not specifying the NDEF message format. If you want the card to open a specific URL when tapped, write that into the spec. Some suppliers ship blank chips and leave programming to you.

If you are comparing quotes, ask the custom nfc tag team on our site for a sample pack. We will send 10 cards with NTAG213, NTAG215 and NTAG216 so you can feel the difference and test the scan range on your own phones.

DUK

How many NFC cards can I order for a small program? Most suppliers start at 500 pcs. We do 100 pcs for trial programs.

What is the difference between NTAG213 and NTAG215? 144 vs 504 bytes of user memory. 213 holds one URL. 215 holds a URL plus contact info.

Can I get a custom design on both sides? Yes. Full-color CMYK on both sides is standard on any custom nfc card printing order.

How long does delivery take? 10–15 days for 500 pcs, 20–30 days for 10,000+. Express air freight adds 3–5 days.

If you are launching a loyalty program, event pass or corporate access card, send us your artwork, chip choice and quantity. We will quote the custom nfc card printing with a sample stage and a batch scan report, usually within one working day. If you want to compare suppliers first, the rfid card company guide on our site lists the checks to run before you sign the PO.
